2015 EMA Environmental Achievement Awards dinner

The EMA Board of Directors extends its appreciation to those who attended the 2015 Environmental Achievement Awards dinner, held at the Detroit Athletic Club.

This year the EMA awarded scholarships to six high school students who participated in the Detroit Science Fair at Cobo Hall.

First Place: Danial Khan from Dearborn Center for Math, Science and Technology for his project, "Potatoes: The Future Plastic."

Second Place: Nicholas Giallombardo and Nathaniel Nunez from Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center for their project, "Effect of Surface Area and Angle of Incidence on Chlorophyll Solar Cell."

Third Place: Lina Abbas, Amanda Berry and Jamal Turfe from Crestwood Senior High School for their project, "Correlations between Aerosol Measurements and Select Weather and Atmospheric Conditions in Southeastern Michigan."

Goodwill Green Works and PPG Industries, Inc. both received the Environmental Achievement Award for their commitment to the environment and their surrounding communities. They have demonstrated this through ingenuity, engineering, recycling/re-use and application of best industry practices.
